This year, the march takes on special significance as it commemorates not only Martí’s birth but also the 130th anniversary of his fall in combat at Dos Ríos and the 72nd anniversary of the first march.

In addition, it will pay tribute to leaders who have inspired generations, such as Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the Generation of the Centenary.

Under the motto “An ever-young fire,” the march is expected to gather a multitude of Cubans, including leaders of the country, members of the Federación Estudiantil Universitaria (FEU), the Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas (UJC), solidarity activists from various parts of the world, as well as participants in the Fifth International Conference for Balance in the World.

This event is not only an act of commemoration but also a celebration of Martí’s legacy and influence on Cuban national identity.

The attendees will carry torches that symbolize not only Martí’s memory but also the continuity of his struggle for a more just and equitable future. With each step, participants will reaffirm their commitment to Marti’s ideals and their determination to continue fighting for a free and sovereign Cuba.
